Entry Requirements

Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

Option 1: Matric

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy)
  • Physical Science
  • English
  • Minimum 40% pass in all subjects

OR

Option 2: N3 Qualification or Higher (trade-specific subjects required):

  • Boilermaker: Plating/Welders Theory and Plating Structural & Steelwork Drawings
  • Electrical: Electrical Trade Theory and Industrial Electronics, or Engineering Drawings
  • Diesel Mechanic: Diesel or Motor Trade Theory and Engineering Drawings
  • Mechanical Fitter: Fitting Trade Theory and Engineering Drawings
  • Instrument Mechanician: Instrument Trade Theory and Industrial Electronics
  • Auto Electrician: Motor Electrical Trade Theory and Industrial Electronics
  • Millwright: Electrical and Fitting Trade Theories, Engineering Drawings, or Industrial Electronics

OR

Option 3: NCV Level 4

  • NCV Level 4 in a relevant trade
  • All subjects passed with a minimum of 40%
