The Department of Employment and Labour, in partnership with the Presidential Youth Employment Initiative (PYEI), is offering 454 Client Service Officer positions to unemployed South African youth.

This initiative aims to empower young people with valuable work experience while improving the efficiency of Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) services across the country.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be a South African citizen.
  • Have a Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
  • Have 0–6 months of relevant experience (no prior work experience required).
  • Be familiar with key legislation and principles, including:
    • The Unemployment Insurance Act & Regulations
    • Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)
    • POPIA and Batho Pele Principles
    • UIF Policies and Customer Service Standards

Key Responsibilities

As a UIF Client Service Officer, you will:

  • Screen and assist UIF applicants.
  • Process applications for UIF benefits.
  • Register continuation forms for payment.
  • Handle administrative duties related to UIF services.
  • Provide friendly, accurate, and efficient customer support.
