Triton Express, through the Triton Academy, is offering unemployed youth the opportunity to apply for its Freight Handling Learnerships 2025 / 2026. This 12-month programme combines theory and workplace training, preparing participants for a career in the logistics and freight industry.


About the Learnership

The National Certificate: Freight Handling Learnership is designed to build essential skills for the logistics and transport sector. Learners will gain both classroom-based training and hands-on workplace experience, ensuring they are prepared for final external assessments and future job opportunities.


What You Will Learn

During the programme, learners will be trained and gain experience in areas such as:

  • Loading and off-loading goods from vehicles
  • Preparing vehicles for deliveries and trips
  • Handling freight documentation (receiving, dispatching, and processing)
  • General warehouse and transport duties
  • Delivery, collection, and verification of stock
  • Picking, packing, and stacking goods safely
  • Maintaining clean and organised work areas
  • Structured theoretical training aligned to national unit standards
  • Practical workplace exposure and mentorship

Minimum Requirements

To be considered, applicants must:

  • Be a South African citizen
  • Hold a Grade 12, TVET N3, or NQF Level 2 qualification (minimum 40% in Maths and English)
  • Be between the ages of 23 and 35 years
  • Be medically fit and able to work shifts or weekends
  • Have the ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Have a clear criminal record
  • Reside in Germiston, Alberton, Boksburg, or Johannesburg
  • Be available to work within 08:00 – 18:00
