Programme Overview

Transnet Port Terminals (TPT) is offering an 18-month Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Programme for non-technical students and recent graduates. This programme is designed to provide structured workplace exposure, allowing participants to apply their academic knowledge in a professional environment.

The WIL programme focuses on building employability through hands-on experience, mentorship, training sessions, and exposure to real business operations within the Planning department.


Key Responsibilities

Task Execution

  • Assist with departmental projects and operational activities
  • Perform routine tasks under supervision
  • Support administrative duties, documentation, and reporting

Learning and Development

  • Attend training sessions and workshops
  • Receive mentorship and shadow experienced professionals
  • Participate in problem-solving and analytical activities

Communication and Collaboration

  • Engage with internal teams, suppliers, and customers
  • Provide updates on assigned work and project progress
  • Act as a support contact for queries where required

Compliance and Safety

  • Follow company policies and safety procedures
  • Maintain ethical and professional standards
  • Handle information with confidentiality

Research and Analysis

  • Conduct data collection and research
  • Assist with reporting and presentations using MS Office
  • Support process improvement initiatives

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric certificate or equivalent
  • N6 qualification in Transport & Logistics or Business Management
  • South African citizen
  • Aged between 18 and 35 years
  • No bursary obligation with another organisation
  • Must provide certified copies of:
    • Matric certificate
    • Academic record
    • South African ID
    • TVET College experiential learning letter
