Security Officer – Department of Cooperative Governance
Location: Pretoria
Salary: R163 680 per annum (Level 03)
Minimum Requirements
To apply, you must have:
- Grade 12 certificate (or equivalent).
- Registration with PSIRA (Grade C).
- Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel.
- Basic Security Officer Training.
- No prior experience required.
Generic Competencies:
- Reliability, teamwork, initiative, communication (verbal & written), planning & execution, interpersonal relations.
Technical Competencies:
- Knowledge of the national security environment and policies.
- Understanding of public security & access control legislation, including the Minimum Information Standards (MISS) Act.
- Knowledge of relevant emergency procedures.
Duties
As a Security Officer, your responsibilities will include:
- Access control (monitoring who enters/exits the premises).
- Patrolling and monitoring premises.
- Ensuring accurate completion of security registers.
- Supporting emergency and safety procedures.
