About the Role
As an Engineering Assistant, you will play an important support role in ensuring smooth operations. Working under the guidance of qualified artisans and supervisors, you will assist with engineering maintenance, housekeeping, and general support tasks. This is a great entry-level step for candidates with basic technical knowledge and a strong willingness to learn.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent (NQF Level 4).
- Relevant NATED courses, such as an N3 Certificate.
- Previous experience in mining is an advantage, but not essential.
Skills and Attributes
- Good communication skills (proficiency in English).
- Awareness of safety and risk management in the workplace.
- Ability to follow instructions and manage time effectively.
- Basic technical understanding of work processes.
Key Responsibilities
As part of the Minopex team, you will:
- Assist artisans with lifting, positioning, and preparing parts and materials.
- Help dismantle and reassemble components under supervision.
- Load and off-load materials for operations.
- Move and carry materials between storage and work areas.
- Assist during breakdowns and installations to reduce downtime.
- Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a safe working environment.
- Act as a spotter/observer when required (e.g., during fire watch checks).
