About the Programme
Eastplats Mine is offering a great opportunity for unemployed South African youth through its Mining Learnership Programme 2025/2026.
This learnership is designed to equip participants with hands-on mining experience, technical knowledge, and the opportunity to start a career in underground mining operations. Learners will gain structured on-the-job training while being mentored by industry professionals in a safe, supportive environment.
The programme also aligns with Eastplats’ commitment to Employment Equity and youth empowerment in South Africa.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Completed Grade 9 with Mathematics and Science, or Communication and Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 1.
- Be a South African Citizen.
- Hold a valid certificate of fitness (red ticket) or be willing to undergo a medical fitness test.
- Must be willing to work underground and follow safety protocols at all times.
Advantageous:
- Level 2 National Certificate in Mining Operations.
- Previous leadership or team experience.
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be expected to:
- Submit a CV, certified ID copy, and academic results.
- Undergo a medical fitness examination.
- Participate in both theoretical training and underground practical work.
- Demonstrate strong teamwork, discipline, and a commitment to learning.
