About the Learnership
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is calling on motivated and focused young South Africans to apply for the 2025 Dispensary Support Learnership Programme.
This opportunity gives learners hands-on experience in the pharmaceutical field while studying towards becoming a Qualified Pharmacist Assistant. The programme combines theory and practical training, preparing learners to work professionally within pharmacy operations.
Once you’ve completed the basic pharmacist assistant course and registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC), you’ll be eligible for permanent employment within the company.
What You’ll Learn
Learners will:
- Assist with the sale of Schedule 1 medicines and health products.
- Help with the compounding and preparation of medicines.
- Manage stock, unpacking, and merchandising in the dispensary.
- Ensure proper labeling and checking of medication.
- Support patients with queries and script follow-ups.
- Assist with scheme authorizations for chronic and oncology medications.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe dispensary environment.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify, you must have:
- Matric (Grade 12) with Pure Mathematics and Physical Science or Life Science.
- An average of 50% or higher in these subjects.
Skills Needed
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Attention to detail and good time management.
- Computer literacy and basic numerical skills.
- A professional, honest, and reliable work ethic.
