About the Opportunity

The Department of Sport, Arts and Culture (DSAC) is looking for dedicated and motivated individuals to fill Club Coordinator positions at its Head Office in Polokwane.
This opportunity is ideal for individuals passionate about sports development and community engagement across Limpopo Province.


Minimum Requirements

To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 certificate.
  • A tertiary qualification (NQF Level 6) in Sport Management, Sport Administration, or Sport Science will be an advantage.
  • 1–2 years of experience in sports administration or a related environment.
  • A valid driver’s licence (not required for persons with disabilities).

Knowledge and Skills Required

Applicants should demonstrate:

  • Good understanding of Public Service Acts, regulations, and policies.
  • Knowledge of sport administration and planning.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
  • Computer literacy and the ability to manage sports projects effectively.
  • Ability to coordinate and implement sports programmes at community level.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Support Federations and Sports Clubs

  • Provide administrative and operational support to federations, clubs, and schools.
  • Assist provincial sports academies with development initiatives.
  • Strengthen stakeholder relations and ensure compliance with governance structures.

2. Coordinate Stakeholder Activities

  • Collect and maintain data on community sport and recreation activities.
  • Provide administrative assistance for sports facilities and infrastructure.
  • Manage systems for the storage, maintenance, and distribution of sports equipment.

3. Facilitate Capacity Building

  • Organise training, workshops, and education programmes.
  • Support coaching and development projects across different sports codes.
  • Promote participation through community-based sports leagues and events.

4. Administer Sports Leagues and Programmes

  • Facilitate health and fitness initiatives.
  • Support local clubs and district leagues.
  • Gather and update club profiles and assist with affiliation processes.
