About the Programme

First National Bank (FNB) is offering a 12-month learnership opportunity for unemployed South African youth who want to gain real work experience and kickstart their careers in the financial sector.

This programme is open across all provinces and aims to help young people with limited work experience become more employable while earning a monthly stipend and developing key professional skills.

Available Departments

Successful candidates may be placed in one of the following FNB divisions:

  • Marketing
  • Finance
  • Sales
  • Customer Service
  • Private & Wealth Investments
  • FNB Cards
  • Collections
  • Administration & Support
  • Catering

FNB is looking for motivated, reliable, and enthusiastic young people who are ready to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.


Minimum Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be South African citizens aged 18 to 34 years
  • Have a Matric certificate (NQF 4) or higher
  • Have been unemployed for at least 6 months
  • Not currently studying
  • Have less than 12 months of total work experience
  • Never have worked for FirstRand Group or taken part in the FirstJob Programme
  • Have a good command of English
  • Have no criminal record and not be blacklisted
  • Be willing to complete both theoretical learning and practical work experience
